| | This is an older book, printed in the early 1970's. It's a book about people, their jobs and how they feel about what they do. Interesting sociological exploration.
The title on "currently reading" does not look like the one I'm offering here. The one I'm offering is white, and paperback. If you want it, be the first subscriber to request it by leaving a comment below.
WORKING by Studs Terkel
Here are some comments from the back of the book:
This is, to put it simply, a magnificient book. To read it is to hear America talking. We have a chorus of workers well worth listening to; they are enjoyable; they are inspiring... The Boston Globe
Fine Literature as well as powerful social commentary. A series of evocative nonfiction short stories. - Rolling Stone
I took this off my "to read" stack, which is seriously in competition with the Sears Tower in Chicago. Or at least the "Batman Building" in Nashville. This is one of those "to read with the fam" plans that did not happen. {Insert Bummed homeschool mom blushing... here.} My son basically chooses to pursue his own educational agenda and chooses textbooks, computer stuff, drama, Bible Quiz and his OWN reading material. Oh, and video games, phone, and IM, of course. Well, I WAS trying to raise him to be independent. Sometimes, I think I succeeded too well, too soon!

Pray for me as I work to withdraw from my local bookshop business. I'm turning it over to someone new, and will leave books with her on a consignment basis. I'm sure, however, that she is not going to want to keep ALL my books, and I sure can't afford to rent storage for them! I'll be listing more for sale online, but I have a LOT of books to deal with. Getting out of the shop will reduce my stress, but the process of getting out is not something I'm enjoying.
